Multicultural Community
Toronto is the most populated city in Canada, with almost half of its residents being immigrants. Over the years, it welcomes over 100,000 foreigners annually, accounting for nearly a third of Canadian immigrants. In 2019, more immigrants entered Toronto than the four Atlantic provinces, the three territories, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba combined. The vast number of immigrants creates a multicultural community notably preferred by most foreigners.
Diverse Settlement Support
Toronto proffers approximately 200 settlement locations to help immigrants during their first stays in the city. Such centers allow newcomers to get the help they need when settling. There are also specific supports given to different groups, nationalities, and religions. Some of these supports include health, language training, and housing.
Excellent Infrastructure
Toronto consists of a well-maintained infrastructure that attracts even more immigrants. The city offers new immigrants affordable housing above all other factors. Also, Toronto has multiple means of transport, such as buses, subways, streetcars, and regional trains. The city is also home to the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ). Such developments enable different foreigners to consider Toronto over other cities in North America.
Toronto is not left out in terms of higher education institutions. It includes six universities and four colleges that attract more international students into the city. One such institution is the University of Toronto that ranks top among the leading universities in the world. Today, the university holds the number 25 spot globally, according to the QS World University Rankings 2021.
