Expression of Interest or EOI
An expression of interest is also an EOI and is the initial request for permanent residence. A candidate willing to migrate to Canada under the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) must send an expression of interest to be considered.
In Canada, each government has rules and regulations for selecting candidates who choose to live and work there. The province of Quebec is no different since it has its own set of rules, as explained in subsequent paragraphs. The Government of Quebec developed the Quebec Skilled worker program to enable skilled foreigners to move and settle in Quebec as skilled foreign workers.
The Expression of Interest (EOI) is the most formal method candidates express their intention to immigrate to Quebec. A candidate sends a request to the Immigration ministry that they would like to be nominated under the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) or in French meaning (Certificate de selection du Québec)
This certificate is like a stepping stone since it gives the candidate a leeway to apply for Quebec permanent residency.
Currently, the new system of Express of interest is digitized, meaning all information is now available in a database. When you compare with the old method, this one has update information of all applicants. It was launched to complement the old system, which had a first in the first out program. In the old system, old applicants had a priority under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
The digital program has an advantage since the Express of Interest (EOI) system allows applicants to fill a profile page in Arrima. Here, they fill all their information about their age, work experience, education, and qualifications in the French language.
