Implied Status in Canada

Applying for a temporary resident visa and being successful at it will earn you an implied status in Canada. As the word suggests, having implied status in Canada grants you legal status while you await an answer on your application from the Immigration Canada. However, with an implied status you definitely cannot work beyond the expiry of your work permit. You are granted an implied status when you make an application for extending your IEC visa, only until the time it is rejected. The work permit of yours can be extended if the response that you receive from only your residency application LMO application or LMO application. The visa extension here will compromise of a CEC/FSW/LMO/PNP reference number. The work permit will only be gained by the applicant to fill up the gap if and only their application is fully processed.

Implied Status for temporary residents

If you are a temporary resident and you tend to send an authorization application for an extension of your stay in Canada latest before your status’ expiry date, you will be, as a temporary resident, marked in status till the time of a decision on your application. For temporary residents, this is an implied status. If you applied for an extension to your stay in Canada and you hold a study permit or a work permit, you are allowed to keep studying or working under the same conditions that of your previous permit, under the similar category. But you will have to stop studying or working if you have applied for extension to your stay under a different category.
