Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Out of the 360 letters, 240 went to workers in this category. Temporary skilled foreign workers who qualify for provincial nomination are all in this category. It also includes international students already working in the province of Manitoba, who must have a permanent position in their place of work. Candidates applying in this category are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The EOI is an updatable online profile that is valid for only a year. Candidates are required to answer all the EOI questions wholly and correctly. The candidates must also provide information on their language proficiency, age, work experience, education, adaptability, and risk assessment. False and misleading information is usually considered a misinterpretation; this will lead to a two-year ban from submitting another EOI. The candidates who have submitted an EOI are given a score out of 1000. The minimum score among the 240 nominees in this category was 542.
Skilled worker overseas
According to the details of the 15th August draw, 83 candidates were nominated in this category. The MPNP, in collaboration with Manitoba employers, organizes missions for overseas recruitment. The Strategic Recruitment Initiative handles these missions together with the issuance of letters to skilled workers found overseas. Candidates in this category are also required to fill an EOI profile. The previous draw had the lowest candidate scoring 685 in the EOI.
Candidates invited from the federal Express Entry system are required to have:
-A legit Express Entry ID.
-A job seeker validation code.
-Experience in one of the occupations listed in the In-demand Occupation list.
International Education Stream
The new International Education Stream (IES) is only for Manitoba graduates who fit the needs of the province labor market. The IES provides these international students graduating in Manitoba a direct pathway to the nomination. Under this stream, a total of 36 letters were issued according to the 15th August draw.
There are three categories under IES:
-Career Employment Pathway.
