You can also bring your dependent to stay with you as backed by the Canadian Permanent Resident Card. Your newborn baby will be given Canadian citizenship if he/she is born in the territory of Canada. A permanent resident cardholder also has stable access to the healthcare services provided by the Government of the Canada.

What do you need to do to maintain your permanent resident card?

To uphold your permanent resident card, you need to be physically present for at least 730 (seven hundred and thirty days) in 5 (five) years. The stays can be irregular and need not essentially be continuous. If you do not adhere to the said time, then you can get your permanent resident card canceled. You can vacate and enter Canada anytime you want. But you need to present your card to the visa officer when entering the country. So, it is pertinent to carry your card every time you travel in and out of Canada.
