Canada’s most recent five-year education program for international students is seeking for more in terms of diversity, global ties, and advancement. The Federal government has a strategy that was recently unveiled, which appreciates the presence of international students all over Canada.
It further notes that there are at least 570,000 international study permit holders who have contributed immensely to Canada’s economy since the beginning of 2019. Additionally, a total of $21 billion has been injected into the economy, courtesy of the education program.
The primary purpose of this strategy, worth $148 million is to raise the number of countries where the international students originate. Already, it has promised approximately $30 million meant to boost the recruitment process.
From the outlook, over 50% of Canada’s pool of international students come from India and China. You will also find them in large cities of Canada, such as Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary. This strategy will mainly set eyes on other countries, which will be sources of international students. These countries include; Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Indonesia, Colombia, and France. This strategy’s primary goal is to increase its efforts and other areas where international students enroll for study all over Canada.
There is a possibility of bringing international skills to areas with special-skill needs to areas where there are few students immigrants. This strategy will cast its net wide away from the large cities where most international students prefer.
Canada has a reputation of offering most sought study programs from internationally recognized universities like the University of Toronto and McGill located in Montreal. These two are quite popular amongst international students, and you will find a high population of international students.
