The number of international students permeating into Canada has been burgeoning since 2009. In 2009, the number of Canada’s international student population stood at 200, 000. 2019 was a major year for Canada since more than 400, 000 international students were issued with study permits to pursue further studies in the country. In the same year, 2019, the total number of study permits issued by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) department, inclusive of other metrics and international students, exceeded 600, 000. Therefore, the number of study permits approved by IRCC has tripled since 2009. This is an indication that Canada is turning out to be one of the best academic destinations.
Where To Get Study Permit
The study permits are issued by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) branch of the government to allow foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions in Canada. Before applying for a study visa make sure you have all the required documents, which include: an acceptance letter from the designated learning institution, a valid passport, and proof that you can support yourself. If you have all the required documentation, then you can apply for your study permit either online, while inside Canada, or at the port of entry.
