The Most Skilled Workers Immigrating Through BC PNP
In 2019, most SI immigrants were from India (33%) and China (15%). A large number of people from this group wanted to live in Vancouver.
Occupations with most new immigrants are Restaurant and food service managers (8.4%), Retail and wholesale managers (5.8%), Software engineers and designers (4.3%), Graphic designers and illustrators (4.2%), and Transport truck drivers (4.1%).
From 2018 to 2019, average salaries for SI nominees increased according to the reports by BC. The increase was seen in three categories; International Graduate (19.5%), Skilled Worker (13.4%), and Express Entry BC International Graduate (13.1%).

The Biggest Year for Tech Pilot
Tech Pilot is a technology firm that is part of the strategy by the provincial government to turn BC into a home for new and emerging technologies while at the same time helping grow the existing tech sector. Its main aim is attracting skilled tech workers by taking care of their immigration process.
In 2019, Tech Pilot nominated 1509, which was more than what they issued the previous year. SI candidates are invited weekly by the BC PNP in one out of 29 occupations in engineering, technology, and business support services. Out of all the nominations, Tech Pilot got 23%, which was an increase from 2018.
