Alberta announced its Nomination Intake plans for the year 2018 lately, in which the maximum figure of nominations is set to be 5,600. Last year this figure was 5,500, which means that there has been a remarkable rise of 100 nominations this year. There was another announcement made about the commencing of 2 new streams associated with the Express Entry as well.
This year the province is expecting to witness a rise in its allotment figures. Where last year the Federal Government had expected to reach a target of 51,000 for the Provincial Nominee Program, in 2018 this target has reached to 55,000. The primary reason behind this anticipation for higher allotment is the Federal Government’s multi-year immigration plan that had been put out on November 1st, last year.
New Streams in 2018
Currently, AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program) has a total number of three immigration streams under it, including the Strategic Recruitment Stream, Employer-Driven Stream, and Self-Employed Farmer Stream.
As per this year’s plans, the Employer-Driven Stream is expected to merge with the Strategic Recruitment Stream to operate together as a totally new stream. This new stream will be known as the Alberta Opportunity Stream. While operating together as the Alberta Opportunity Stream, both the Employer Driven Streams and Strategic Recruitment Streams will also integrate their sub categories in this one whole new stream.
