Ontario’s immigration program consists of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program and the Ontario Express Entry. The OINP is an immigration program for persons who have job offers in Ontario and also a program that assists employers to find qualified job seekers. Employers or prospective investors apply through the program to recruit or retain foreigners or impermanent residents. If their applications are approved by the province of Ontario, then the recruited or retained persons will be nominated for permanent residence in the country. After nomination, those people must then apply for permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
What does Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades
Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream is an immigration stream that provides foreigners in Ontario with work experience in various specialized trades, with the opportunity to apply to live and work in Ontario permanently. Moreover, Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is also an immigration stream under the OINP which allows French-speaking skilled employees with English language proficiency to apply for permanent residence in Ontario. One is required to have a legit profile with the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry System and have received a Notification of Interest from Ontario before one can apply for nomination by the Ontario government to live and work permanently in Ontario.
2019 Nominated Participants
Participants for recent nominations in the first draw in 2019, who received the Notification of Interest, were required to have Express Entry that was created between the periods of January 24th and January 29th 2019. Those who are approved under the two programs, receive 600 Comprehensive Ranking System points that guarantee an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence through the Express Entry System.
