The Alberta Express Entry Stream
If you are looking to obtain permanent residence and are an eligible Express Entry Candidate, with strong ties to the province, then Alberta Express Entry Stream got you covered. It also applies to any candidates who are working in an occupation that is in conjunction with Alberta’s “economic development and diversification priorities.” However, there is no list of eligible occupations available.
The stream’s creation started in 2018, and since then, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score required has dropped on four occasions to 300. In addition, the other four draws had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System requirement of 301. There were also four selected candidates with 302 CRS scores and above.
It is worth noting that for Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination, they have to do it through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. However, they have to be invited to do so by the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
According to the AINP, the following candidates may be given a priority;
• A job offer in Alberta or any work experience there
• A degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer
• A parent, child, or sibling that is already living in Alberta.
Likewise, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) points out that some factors can minimize the chances of a candidate for receiving an invitation from Alberta. They include;
• An Express Entry profile that expires within three months of the draw
• Occupations such as those listed in the Alberta Opportunity Stream
• Ineligible Occupations list
The AINP is categorically clear that if you do not meet their requirements, then it is hard to get an invitation.
