While announcing this great news for the people with desires to move to Canada OINP encouraged the applicants to create a new profile in the express entry pool, and have asked them to delete their old profile in order to avoid any confusion later. It is important to mention here that HCP is a passive stream which means that candidates will have to wait to be identified and receive NOI before being eligible to submit an application. OINP only selects the candidate who has minimum CRS (comprehensive Ranking Score) which is 400 score and who meet the eligibility criteria. In addition to this, the candidate must also present a Master’s, Ph.D., or Bachelor’s degree and language proficiency in French or English at CBL level 7 or more. In addition to all this minimum skilled work requirement also needs to be fulfilled.

Candidates with NOI will be eligible to apply for a PNC (Provincial Nomination certificate). An applicant who will be successful will be awarded 600 points under the CRS, which will lead to ITA (Invitation to Apply) in the following stream from the express entry pool.

A list of in-demand trades is also released by OINP, and the candidates in this very trade will be specifically targeted. It isn’t important to mention here that issuance of NOIs isn’t limited to candidates in the listed occupations only. The list released by OINP is given below:

  • Carpenters
  • Electricians (except industrial and power system)
  • Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics
  • Decorators and painters (except interior decorators)
  • Welders
  • Bricklayers
  • Plumbers
  • Shinglers and roofers
  • Sheet metal workers
  • Boilermakers
  • Tilesetters
  • Industrial electricians
  • Plasterers, drywall installers, and finishers and lathers
