Canada, through its Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025, intends to diversify its population by increasing its immigration numbers to 500 000 every year by 2025. Specifically, the plan, through the Express Entry Program, targets over 60% of immigrants coming in as permanent residents to support the number of skilled workers that are falling slowly due to aging and retirement. What is Express Entry?
It is the most popular immigration pathway into Canada as a permanent resident. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the FSTP, and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), under the Express Entry application management system, recruit eligible candidates who are ranked against the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
