The number of invitees for permanent residence in Canada under the Express Entry program hit a record high this summer.
If you thought the pandemic could affect your invitation for a permanent residency in Canada this summer, you have nothing to worry about. Canada has so far recorded an all-time biggest quarter for express entry this year.
Numbers Don’t Lie
The Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the third quarter of 2020 stood at 28, 450. This is an increase in the number of IT.A.s compared to any previous quarters since the launch of the program in 2015. Moreover, ITAs issued only this year stand at a record of 78 450. Canada has been able to issue ITAs even during the most trying times, such as during the first wave of coronavirus when most operations had come to a standstill.
Federal Skilled Workers Remembered
Some Federal Skilled Workers had been left out in Q2, but they were included on the July 8 Entry draw. The immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has been holding draws for all types of visas since September 2. If you applied for ITAs this year under any program, you could be in for some luck since Canada seems more generous with accepting different visas and express entry programs.
Canada Resumes Habitual Express Entry Draws
In August alone, four different Express Entry draws were held. There was another draw for all programs on 5th in the same month, followed by a Federal Skilled Trades draw the next day. Still, in the same month, Canada resumed its Q2 habit of conducting Express Entry draws. The draws were, however, exclusive to Canadian Experience Class candidates and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
