Tips for Receiving an Invitation to Ontario’s Tech Draw
Immigration candidates who get invited to Ontario’s tech draw don’t do it out of luck. They follow several guidelines and requirements that apply to any other interested individual. Here are some steps for getting invited to the selection.
You first need an invitation from the Ontario Immigration Nomination Program (OINP) to create a profile under the country’s Express Entry class.
The Express Entry is a federal program that encompasses immigration activities in three distinct economic immigration programs. They include the:
1.Federal Skilled Worker Program
2.Federal Skilled Trades Program
3.Canadian Experience Class
Among the three Express Entry programs, the Ontario Human Capital Priorities stream only recognizes the Federal Skilled Worker and Canadian Experience programs.
Any candidate who applies for immigration under the Express Entry program must have a CRS score. The CRS points awarded to each applicant are based on their profile’s performances as compared to other candidates. As mentioned earlier, people get ranked based on their performance on work experience, age, fluency in French and English, and education.
Once the Express Entry draw is complete, the candidates’ CRS points are tallied and ranked. The OINP then identifies high ranking individuals within the Express Entry pool and welcomes people who fall under the tech sector to apply for a PNP nomination from Ontario.
Once the process is complete, successful applicants get slotted in their respective technology careers in the province. Speaking to media about its immigration system, the OINP said, “Through our strategic approach, we are helping tech companies in Ontario to find top tech specialists from all over the globe successfully. We wish to create more immigration policies that will bolster our efforts to boost our local job market.”
