Eligibility for Canadian citizenship
The fact that you are now a Canadian citizen allows you to be issued with a Canadian passport and you can participate in elections as a voter and an aspirant. This process has made many successful applicants consider this as a great source of pride. It is worth noting that permanent residents are only allowed to apply for citizenship if they are over 18years. One twist is you must be physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days, while children may attain citizenship without necessarily meeting the residency requirements.
Moreover, every applicant between 18-54 years should demonstrate their mastery of English, or French with a Canadian Level Benchmark (CLB) 4 or higher. Applicants in this age group, therefore, have to take a citizenship test and should not have any criminal history. These two qualifications play a key role in attaining Canadian citizenship.
Finally, if your application gets approved, the next step is pursuing the citizenship test, if you want to, and later take an Oath of Citizenship in a citizenship ceremony. Upon completion of this process, then you will be crowned as a Canadian Citizen.
