Invitation to apply (ITA) gives you an opportunity to qualify for applying a permanent Canadian residence. One thing that you need to be quite clear about is the fact that mere receiving an ITA does not make you eligible for being a permanent resident in Canada. Receiving an ITA only makes you eligible to apply for a permanent residence in Canada via an application that can be either accepted or rejected.

The Process

The most common reasons that cause to lower this score happens to be losing out on a job offer, language test scores that turn out to be expired, or losing out on provincial nomination for permanent residence etc. On the other hand, there are a number of factors that can contribute to either increase or lower these scores. What happens when you turn down an ITA?

Last but not the least, you must also be aware of the fact that not responding to an ITA can straight away decline you of any chance in the future to get through the Express Entry pool for permanent residence.
