FSWP Eligibility
For one to be eligible for permanent residence, the FSWP requires one year of continuous work experience in a skilled occupation during the past ten years. However, people who completed the work experience abroad are as well eligible. Regarding the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB), an FSWP applicant should score a CLB OF 7 in English or French. The language competencies tested are reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The candidate should also score at least 67 per cent on the test that assesses their level of education, language comprehension, and whether they already have a job in Canada.
The Canadian Experience Class Eligibility
CEC requires a candidate to have experience in skilled work within the past three years in Canada. Nurses with NOC O or A skill level should have a CLB 7, while those with NOC skill level B need a CLB 5. Having a job offer increases one’s likelihood of receiving an invitation, but it is not a requirement.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Provincial Nominee Program IS a program that allows immigrants to migrate to Canada besides the federal government. It is advantageous to nurses because some PNPs are specifically dedicated to nurses. PNP is lenient because it at times draws candidates from the expressway’s system, and once a candidate is nominated, they get 600 CRS points added to their Express Entry score. It gives them a high probability of being invited to apply for permanent residence.
The following are some available Provincial Nominee Program pathways for nurses:
-The province of Ontario invites nurses for application via Human Capital Priorities Stream.
-Under its Skills Immigration and Express Entry pathways, British Columbia offers a Healthcare Professional category.
-Saskatchewan province launched an International Health Worker EOI pool purposely for the nurses.
-Nova Scotia’s labor Market Priorities Stream constantly holds draws inviting nurses for provincial nomination.
-New Brunswick’s Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) offers a pathway for nurses from abroad with good comprehension of either French or English.
-Quebec has its operational immigration system, although Canada has the final say on who gains entry. However, nurses may find entrance into Canada through its Regular Skilled Worker Program and the Quebec Experience Program.
