Alberta

As with the other provinces, Alberta has regularly issued Express Entry Stream invites to immigrants. The most active program in the region is the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program. The province has maintained a steady stream of invites since the beginning of 2021. Alberta has so far invited 500 candidates from two separate draws held in May.

Alberta regularly searches for candidates who meet eligibility, including a minimum of 300 points and a standing job offer in the province. This search in the federal entry pool makes it almost straightforward in choosing qualified candidates. A source from inside the Alberta government recently revealed that the region had allocated 6250 for this year alone.

British Colombia

The British Colombia province has one of the vibrant and sophisticated provincial nominee programs. The region makes weekly invites through the Express Entry British Colombia, Skills Immigration, and Entrepreneur stream. The region is known for issuing invites to top-scoring candidates. Over the cause of April, the province has invited a jaw-dropping 915 candidates.

British Colombia also made public their intention to make the famous tech pilot a permanent program at the end of June. The province is keen to keep conducting tech-only draws every week and will continue to do so well after the program is permanent.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan’s unique International Skilled Worker category saw a lot of activity this month. The province took full advantage of express entry by holding three fully-fledged invitation rounds for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. The province also had invitation rounds for the Occupations In-Demand sub Category. In total, 528 invitations to apply were issued.

Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island held its draw on the twentieth of May. The result was a total of 155 invitations sent to immigrant candidates. It was interesting that 138 of these invites were issued to Express Entry and Labor Impact candidates. The remaining 17 invitations were channeled through Business impact candidates. These candidates had 80 points which put them right above the cut-off point. You can expect the next draw to be next month. The province meticulously plans out monthly draws without fail.

Ontario

In this province, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program saw a couple of developments in May. A total of six draws were held in this one month. The first draw was held on the fourth of May. This initial draw resulted in a total of 102 candidates receiving invitations for applications. The 102 candidates were under the Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.

Soon after the first draw, the province held its first-ever Employer Job Offer: Foreign worker and Employer Job offer: International Student stream draws. These two streams are encompassed in the new Expression of the Interest intake system, launched in April. A total of 145 students received well-earned invitations. An additional 296 distinguished international students received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination from Ontario. The federal government has allocated 8,350 nominations for 2022.
