Comprehensive Ranking System
The Comprehensive Ranking System is the ranking mode that the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada uses to select candidates for permanent admission into Canada. It is a very competitive ranking mode, and candidates are selected based on the points they have garnered. The selected candidates are then issued with ITAs or Invitations to Apply. There are many factors that influence the points gained by an applicant: their age, educational background, language proficiency, and professional experience being just a few of those factors.
There will be almost 30 such draws and more than 80,000 Invitations will be given this year. While the CRS ranking has a reputation for being notoriously high, the next draws will most likely feature low scores of below 460 if at all the IRCC hopes to reach its 80,000+ target.
How can employees employ foreign workers?
If you are an employer that wishes to employ foreign workers, you might want to get an ILMA or nominations programs (PNPs). This will go a long way in making sure you retain your employees for a long time.
What’s the next step for candidates?
If the trends are anything to go by, a majority of the applicants who will be issued with ITAs this year will not have the frighteningly high scores. Most will fall below 460, thus enabling a good number to gain permanent residence in Canada. The downside is, most of these applicants will most likely not have a job offer or nomination under a provincial immigration program. Therefore, it is best to secure an approved offer of employment.
