International students are well-positioned for Express Entry

The Express Entry system is the primary source of skilled foreign workers in Canada. The profiles of all the qualified candidates are submitted into a pool and categorized. This process is carried out through what’s known as the Comprehensive Ranking System. The system awards points based on each of the applicants’ likelihood to become a successful citizen in Canada.

A candidates who displays a high capacity in either English or French, for example, can help boost their Comprehensive Ranking System score. All the candidates with strong French skills can also earn additional Comprehensive Ranking System points. This system has provided a better opportunity for the candidates to fully transition to permanent residency and play a role in the growth and drive of Canada.

The Comprehensive Ranking System also puts into consideration the candidate’s Canadian education qualifications and their skilled work experience in Canada. This consideration may put former international graduates in an excellent position to receive an invitation for full-time residence through Express Entry.
