Recently, Express Entry application has been on the limelight in Alberta.

The focus of new solicitations in Alberta is on immigration applicants with a profile in Canada’s Express system. Applicants can immigrate into Canada through the provincial nominee program.

121 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) were issued to Express Entry Steam applicants. These are individuals whose Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores were as low as 400 in Alberta’s most recent draw, which occurred August 15.

This draw was the second one to invite Express Entry candidates in August. It enabled the province of Alberta to look through the government Express Entry system for applicants who meet the stream’s prerequisites.

The previous draw, on August 7, was significantly trivial. It issued 35 solicitations to applicants with Express Entry CRS scores as low as 352.

But how can one be eligible for the program?

Alberta Express Entry Stream, like other Express Entry-adjusted Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), requires potential nominees to create an Express Entry profile.

Anything else?

Perhaps, you’re concerned about your employment eligibility. The good news is that qualifying for Alberta Express Entry Stream doesn’t require related work experience or employment propositions. If anything, candidates should be engaging in income-generating activities that support the province’s development. And what’s better than the absence of occupation-related barriers?

However, AINP might prioritize individuals with:

  • An employment offer and work experience in Alberta
  • Degree from a Canadian higher learning institution and a legitimate employment proposition
  • A parent, child or kin already living in Alberta.

Since the creation of the Alberta Express Entry Stream, 5,503 NOIs has been issued. This has been made possible by the 28 draws held by AINP over a year.

Express Entry applicants who are lucky to get a NOI from Alberta qualify for provincial nomination application.

Even more- endorsed nominees receive extra 600 points towards their CRS score. The additional points may make it easier to receive an invitation in subsequent Express Entry system draw.
