The result of Express Entry for this week have been released by the Canadian Government. Among those invited were 668 candidates. The qualified individuals will be invited to apply for permanent residency in the country.

The deadline for receiving applications for the week ended on 18th March and the government released the results on March 20th. Following this invitation, the total number of candidates required to apply for permanent residency this year so far has reached 19,368.

The system used in selecting the candidates was known as the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), where the minimum score for the applicant was 720.

As compared to the last Express Entry minimum CRS Score, which was 471, this week’s score had gone high. This is because the Express Entry integrated candidates that had provincial nominations.

In a midst of COVID-19 measures derailing most of the immigration process, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are doing everything within their power to meet their 2020 target and sending invitations for application of permanent residency for individuals who meet Express Entry requirements.

Express entry is responsible for managing a pool of candidates in three Federal High Skilled immigration programs and includes:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Federal Skilled Trade Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

Candidates are ranked in accordance with the CRS system. the main factors that come into play in this system include but not limited to:

  • Age
  • Education
  • Proficiency in English or French
  • Skilled work Experience
