On 19th August 2020, Canada held its 160th Express Entry draw where immigration candidates were invited for permanent residence. A total of 600 invitations were issued to candidates with a score of 771 in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Those selected needed to have a provincial nomination from a PNP. The draw marks the third round of draw for August, which saw the Invitations to Apply (ITA) issue for permanent residence in Canada.
On 6th August, 250 ITAs were given out to Express Entry candidates through the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Candidates selected needed to have scored a minimum of 415 points. The day before, 3,900 ITAs were issued to candidates with a score of 476 in all programs. 18th March marked the start of this pattern since the Coronavirus lockdown was initiated. It shows the draw could be held any day before the end of the month.
Express Entry’s ITA Draws
Express Entry Program is Canada’s application system responsible for candidates in the country’s three major economic immigration classes; the Federal Skilled Worker Program, commonly known as FSWP, the FSTP, short for,Federal Skilled Trade Program, and the Canadian Experience Class, simplify known as CEC. Candidates with high rankings under this category get ITAs in regular invitation rounds.
The draw marks the 27th draw in 2020, bringing the total number of ITAs for the year to 62,450. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, Canada’s government still works toward hitting the target it hard for 2020 in terms of immigrations.
