The 2023-2025 plan will also guide immigration programs across all business lines.
You can expect to see the Express Entry facilitate the admission of around 82,880 immigrants to Canada as permanent residents in 2023. 2024 and 2025 target 109,020 and 114,000, respectively. With these targets, you can clearly see how Canada prioritizes economic immigration in the face of its ongoing labor shortage.
Immigration alone accounts for about 75 percent of the population growth and up to 90 percent of the labor force growth in the country.
An Overview of Express Entry
Now that we have updated you on the latest Express Entry draw, you should learn some basics. What is Express Entry? It is an online application process for CEC, FSWP, and FSTP, the three Canadian immigration programs. If you are a PNP candidate in the Express Entry pool, you are automatically eligible for a minimum of one of these programs.
It is also essential to know the meaning of the Comprehensive Ranking System. It is a points-based system that Express Entry uses to rank the profiles of candidates. Suppose you are a top-scoring candidate. In that case, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
After receiving an ITA, you can apply for permanent residency before an IRCC official reviews your application. If the IRCC official approves your application, you will become a permanent Canadian resident.
