The candidates invited into the Express Entry program need to have at least a year of experience in that particular occupation. These are also the basic requirement for participation in the provincial nomination program. Candidates nominated for the provincial nomination program or any other Express Entry-linked PNP have a bigger chance of being accepted and invited to apply for permanent residence (ITA).
Canada’s Express Entry system
The express entry program is an application management system encompassing three Federal High Skilled immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP),
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Express Entry candidates also qualify for the above-listed programs. The program is point-based. And candidates earn points based on certain factors such as skills, work experience, age, Canadian employment status, and provincial nomination. The IRCC then invites the highest scoring candidate to participate in the Express Entry draw.
You may also be interested to know that the express entry program is open throughout the year program and candidates and invited to make their applications any time. Applicants to the program must submit an expression of interest and an application for the jobs listed. The profiles are then evaluated and awarded points before they are placed in the applicant pool. From this pool, Canadian provinces and employers search for talents that match their needs. Apart from education and works experience, the program also considers other factors such as the eligibility of the candidate’s spouse and ability to communicate in French.
