How to Qualify for Provincial Nomination Through an Employer Job Offer Stream
To be considered under one of Ontario’s three Employer Job Offer streams (Foreign Worker, International Student, or In-Demand Skills), you must meet the following requirements:
- Your employer must register their business in the Employer Portal and submit your job offer.
- You must meet the eligibility requirements for one of the streams (for example, having a qualifying job offer);
- You must register an Expression of Interest (EOI) after receiving your job offer ID via email.
- This email is sent automatically after your employer completes their registration.
After the employer takes care of your job offer, you must register an EOI within 30 days (no exceptions). Once submitted, the job offer expires, and the employer must submit a new job offer.

The good news is that you don’t need to pay a fee to register an EOI. After registration, the EOI also stays valid for about 12 months.
If you get an ITA, expect to receive a notification via the e-Filing Portal from the OINP. Please read the invitation and ensure you submit a completed application for an employment position within 14 days of receiving the invite. Also, be sure your employer reviews the employer guide.
Please be sure to submit your application to the OINP on time. If you’re successful in obtaining a provincial nomination, you may consider applying to the federal government for permanent residency.
Note: The OINP may undergo an overhaul on their program on May 30, 2026. Expect to see some applicant categories revoked. Also, the Employer Job Offer streams may be replaced by a single consolidated stream. Note that the province has not yet provided details on how existing candidates will be transitioned.
