Immigration is Essential for Population Growth
The study also revealed that according to 56 percent of the respondent, more immigration is essential to maintain Canada’s population. However, 36 percent of the respondents do not agree with the idea, while 7 percent do not have a clear stand. These opinions couple with opinions on current immigration levels. Among the Canadians who agreed with the statement,
- 70 percent are from Atlantic Canada
- 66 percent are the educated and high-income earners
- 71 percent are first-generation Canadians
- 66 percent are radicalized people
- 67 percent are federal liberal party supporters

Most Canadians Agree That Immigration is Important for the Economy
Eighty-four percent of Canadians agree that immigration is a brilliant way to get back the Country’s economy back to its best state. This is four points increased from 2019 and the highest since 1993. However, 73 percent are for the idea that immigrants compete and take away jobs meant for the natives. According to the survey, the increase in immigration support is probably in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Canada could also be taking advantage of the USA’s political instability, where most skilled immigrants are being denied access. All the same, this is a connecting public insight that enhancing an individual’s livelihood and Canada’s economy calls for creating new chances for skilled immigrants. Furthermore, Canada can use all the help it can get after such a rough year.
