Top Countries that Benefited from the Canadian PR Programs
Canada has always been diverse and welcomes immigrants from all over the world. However, some countries produce more immigrants than others. In particular, India has topped the immigrant list for many years. 2022 was not different with India topping the list closely followed by China.
The same was the case in the year 2021. As a matter of fact, India and China contributed 32 percent and 8 percent of immigrants respectively of the total of individuals who received permanent residency in 2022. This was a decrease as compared to 2021.
To shed more light, lets examine the top ten countries that benefited from the Canadian immigration programs of 2022. We will make an exclusive list positioning a country on how it performed and the number of candidates it produced in the Canadian PRs and the percentage it accounted for.

What about the Provinces
The immigrants that arrived in Canada were to be resettled in the country across different provinces. The destinations that topped the list of provinces that welcomed many immigrants were Ontario and Quebec. Just like in 2021, the year 2022 Ontario was at the top of the list on the Canadian list.
Quebec made a significant stride and overtook British Columbia, which was second in the 2021 stats. According to data, Quebec was chosen by 42.2 percent of settlers arriving in the country. This was a 7.2 percent drop as compared to the previous year 2021.
Quebec and British Columbia resettled 15.7 and 14 percent respectively. The other remaining provinces didn’t exceed the 10 percent mark with the exception of Alberta, which sat at the 10 percent mark.
