What clients who paid the old application fee should expect
Applicants who submit a complete application to the IRCC using the previous cost will often not have to worry about fee adjustments after the fact. Online applications are processed instantly, guaranteeing that the agency can verify a legitimate submission immediately or shortly after. There will be a delay between when the applicant sends the required papers, and the IRCC receives them if an applicant applies by mail.
Fees could vary throughout this period. Typically, the agency won’t turn down an application if the applicant:
- Paid the full previous fee
- Submitted an application in its entirety
- Applied via mail before the fee modification.
