Speak Clearly During the Interview
Effective communication is the key to interview success. Before the interview, we advise practicing with someone else. If possible, write down the possible questions an IRCC officer would ask and prepare answers for them.
Articulate your words well during the interview to ensure the officer can understand all the words you’re saying. Better yet, speak slowly and use simple language only. Avoid jargon or technical terms. If you need assistance during an interview, let the officer know.
Make sure you’re also calm throughout the interview and try to be confident (but not too much). Most importantly, be professional and arrive at least 30 minutes before your interview.
Address Concerns Professionally and Calmly
If the IRCC has concerns about your applications and you’re against it, never be defensive. Instead, address the concerns as professionally and calmly as possible. Provide them with clarification or explanations. This is why it’s better to always have supporting documentation, just in case.
Newcomers must keep in mind that the interview’s success depends on how they respond to the questions and that they meet all eligibility requirements or qualifications. If you have questions about the process or interview, feel free to ask the IRCC officer but always be professional. It’s also recommended to do a follow-up on your application.
Always Be Honest
IRCC officers are experienced and have interviewed several applicants, so they may be able to tell if you’re lying. Officers are also trained to spot fraudulent information, which is why it’s crucial for you to always be honest. Ensure that the information you provide is consistent with the documents you submitted.
Also, note that lying or misrepresentation may cost you the application. You may no longer be able to apply for at least five years. Worse, you may be charged with a crime. Also, applicants may still be charged with misrepresentation even if they’re unaware of it, which is why it’s crucial to be careful. Do your research as much as possible.
Is it Possible to Get an Interview Waiver?
You may get an interview waiver from the IRCC if you include all relevant information and there are no problems with the documents you submitted. This is why you should carefully and thoroughly review applications before submitting them to increase your chances of getting approval from the IRCC.
