Received an ITA? Read This Before You Apply

When you get an ITA, your first reaction is to celebrate. It’s a huge leap forward, after all. However, your invitation is only the first stepping stone toward gaining permanent residency.

You’ll now need to complete a permanent residency application. As a word of advice, be honest when filling out your application. The IRCC will review your application with a fine-tooth comb, and any false or misleading information can affect your chances of approval or delay the process.

Even if you accidentally provide inaccurate information, you could face a five-year ban from re-entering the Express Entry pool or be barred from entering the country.

Documentation matters. Every document you submit, such as your passport, educational credentials, and language test results, must be up-to-date and easy to read.

Just a reminder: omitting information or documentation can delay your application or lead to a refusal.
