Did you know that the province of British Columbia invited over 430 immigration candidates to apply for the provincial nomination of permanent residence in Canada? Well, this was on the latest draw, which was held on 1st September. Over the past months, Covid 19 pandemic impact has led to massive rates of unemployment in the tourism, hospitality, retail, and personal services. The British Columbia Nominee Program (BC PNP), therefore, continues to suspend Invitations to Apply (ITA) for candidates in these occupations.
Skills Immigrations and International Graduates nominations
The most recent invitations were mostly focused on skilled workers and International Graduate candidates in the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC), Skills Immigration (SI), and Entrepreneur streams. Candidates with valid profiles in the federal government’s Express Entry system belong to the EEBC category. This is the most common option used by most skilled immigrants to obtain permanent residence in Canada. On the other hand, the skilled and semi-skilled foreign workers whose jobs are high on demand in the province of British Columbia belong to the SI category.
Five EEBC and SI categories were involved in today’s draw where the minimum score ranged from 76 to 98;
- Skilled (Foreign) Worker, 94SI-International Graduate, 98
- Entry level and semi-skilled foreign workers, 76
- Skilled worker 94,
- International (foreign) Graduate, 98
It is important to note that to qualify for an invite through EEBC, candidates need to be already registered under both the federal Express Entry system and B.C.s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
