Employers bring their new hires to Canada through Global talent stream (GTS). Global talent stream was established in 2017 to process labour market impact Assessments (LMIAs) for highly-skilled temporary foreign workers within two weeks. GTS is divided into two sub-streams. The first category is the people who receive nomination by employers from a designated list. The second category is for the skilled people in a specific occupation and is on-demand in Canada, such as computer specialists. 24,000 people have come to Canada under this stream.
