British Columbia: A Beacon for Tech and More
On August 29th, British Columbia held its weekly draw, inviting a total of over 150 professionals from different fields. The focus was undeniably on tech, with 102 candidates invited from this field alone – the catch? A minimum score of 88.
But that’s not all! They also extended invitations to 28 early childhood educators and assistants, 20 healthcare professionals, and a handful of individuals from other priority occupations, all of which required a minimum score of 60.
Overall, it’s been an exciting week for immigration in Canada. Between Ontario and British Columbia alone, over 900 people have moved one step closer to their dream of settling down and beginning a new life in the Great North!
Canada’s Latest Immigration Updates: Province by Province

Alberta has just released the results of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) draw that took place on August 24th. They’ve rolled out the welcome mat for 168 new candidates through the Family Connection and Primary Occupation in Demand stream. The interesting thing about this is that all the invited candidates also had Express Entry status and the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score needed is a strong 302.
Now let’s take a look at Manitoba. They held their first region-specific draw of the year on August 30th. A total of 288 candidates in the Skilled Worker stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) were given the go-ahead. The requirement was that the candidates needed to be working in Manitoba and living, or planning to live, outside of Winnipeg, the provincial capital. The minimum score here was a hefty 600.
Over at Prince Edward Island, it was all about the healthcare, manufacturing, food processing, and construction sectors. On August 31st, 22 lucky individuals received invitations via the Labour and Express Entry stream of the PEI PNP. The province has been quite active. Since September 2022, a whopping 2602 candidates have been invited, with 97% of the invitations being issued in the Labour and Express Entry stream.
