Individuals Already in Canada Received More Itas
The report further indicated that more than 40,000 ITAs went to those people who were already residing in Canada at the time in 2018. Your credentials may not enable you to qualify to come to Canada directly, as a permanent resident. Even though, you can still choose the work permit route to come to the country. All you need is to secure a safe job offer that you qualify for. It increases your chances of being eligible for permanent residence.
Canada is Looking for Young, but Knowledgeable People
Moreover, the Express Entry System considers your age when deciding whether to give you the ITA. According to the IRCC report, more than half of all the ITAs that were issued went to individuals aged between 20-19 years old. 85% of all the ITAs went to those within the 20-34 age range.
This clearly shows that Canada is more interested in skilled workers who are young, and well-educated so that they can deliver quality work. You should also be well-versed with at least one of the country’s official languages. These include English and French.
Experience is Important
In 2018, 36,340 ITAs, which covered 41% of all the total ITAs issued, went to candidates who had proof of Canadian work experience. This showed that Canada is looking for individuals who have mastered their craft in the country. This allows them to fit in the job market comfortably.
In 2018, the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) and the Canada Experience Class (CES) dominated Express Entry. They accounted for more than 78,000 of all the 89,800 ITAs that were received. The IRCC said in their report that the increase in ITAs issued matched the high skillful immigration target that was set for 2018.
